But while make-up artist Inge Grognard’s incredible Pucci look involved thick and heavily pigmented lashes, MAC senior artist Rebecca Butterworth recommends something more subtle: ‘Try deep jewel tones – the right shade will make your eyes pop.’ She suggests emerald or blue for brown eyes; aubergine or violet for green eyes; and bright blue for blue eyes.

See red! Yes, we’re talking about eyeshadow. Because while red eyes may not be an obvious contender for bridal beauty, this look stormed the A/W17 catwalks, appearing at Kenzo, Versus Versace and House of Holland, and is proving a hit on Instagram, with over 32,000 tags so far. ‘One thing that’s clear is that red has migrated from its typical placement on the lips,’ says make-up artist Val Garland.
