I’m off kitchen
She’s the ultimate yummy mummy, juggling her role as a Britain’s Got Talent judge and her TV presenting with the chaos of family life with her daughters Lexie, eight, and Hollie, three, with her husband, Chris Hughes.
So, this Christmas, Amanda Holden is adamant she’s going to take a break and not be chained to the kitchen. Instead she’s having the big day off cooking duties and is swapping her apron for a glass of bubbly, so she can relax before the mayhem of BGT starts again in the New Year.
Amanda says: I won’t be with my [extended] family at Christmas for the first time ever – we’re spending it with Chris’ best friends and we’re having lunch out, so for the first time I won’t have to cook. Then on Boxing Day there will be 16 of us and loads of kids, which will be great for Lexie and Hollie, as they’ll have a load of kids to play with – they normally just have half-sloshed adults to entertain them! I’m doing abig pre-Christmas dinner with all my family before where we’ll exchange presents. When it comes to entertaining, the 44-year-old star turns to celeb cooks for inspiration and isn’t one to experiment with complicated new recipes. She adds: Delia Smith, Mary Berry and Nigella Lawson are my go-to books.
It may be all change for Amanda
duty this year!’
After a full-on year, Amanda Holden admits this Christmas she’s putting her feet up and spending time with friends
this Christmas, but it’s back to normal in the New Year and she’s looking forward to returning to BGT and travelling the country for the auditions.
Amanda says: I’ll be spending New Year’s Eve with friends. I never make any resolutions – I think they’re pointless! I try to be better than I was the year before, but never really make them as I never stick to them. She adds: I’ll be filming Britain’s Got Talent in January and that keeps me busy. I’m really lucky as I have loads of help from my husband and my mum, but I always try to work
around my children’s school hours, even if that means I have to start at 5am. I’ll try to squash everything in so I can be home in time for the school run.
Last year, Amanda credited her incredible figure to yoga saying: I used to be abig fan of Spanx, but ditched them two years ago when I started yoga, which has changed my shape.
And after the indulgence of Christmas, she’s determined to keep up her regime and stays youthful with her dedicated skincare routine.
She says: I’ll try to keep up my yoga and eat as healthily as I can when on the road filming BGT. I have this amazing new base called Dior Skin Nude Air, which makes you look like you have perfect skin. I want to look like Joan Collins when I am in my 90s!
