Avoid hot baths and saunas or steam rooms
These should be avoided as they can raise the body temperature and this could be damaging to the developing embryo or fetus.
Learn to relax If you haven’t done so already, you need to slow down your pace of life and avoid rushing around for the first trimester. Minimize stress in your life by making use of relaxation exercises and techniques (see pages 122-123).
Getting plenty of rest is essential when it comes to coping with pregnancy, especially in the first trimester.
Relaxation is key. Take time out of your busy routine to simply sit still and read a book or, even better, do nothing.
Adopt a healthy eating plan It takes time in the early stages of pregnancy to establish your healthy eating plan, bearing in mind you may be feeling nauseous or you may have cravings for certain foods. Try to follow the advice on page 167, as good nutrition is key in the first trimester.
