A soothing, nutritive, moisturizing, cleansing and toning mask for most skin types. An excellent treatment for the face as well as the body.
1 tablespoon ripe avocado (mashed) 1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon whole-wheat flour, oat a few drops jojoba oil, peanut oil or flour or buckwheat flour other rich oil of choice
1 tablespoon cornmeal
Mix flour and cornmeal, add water (a little at a time, until a smooth paste results), add avocado and then oil, stirring both in thoroughly. If the paste is too loose sprinkle in more flour; if it is too thick add water, a little at a time. Massage the skin with the paste and then apply a thick coat of paste over the surface of the skin. Leave on 20 minutes. Rinse off. Makes 1 thick mask application.
Variation: Other mask can be made by substituting the avocado in the above recipe with other fruits such as peaches, strawberries, papaya, etc. and adding them to the flour paste. The flour paste in this recipe provides a basic mask to which other ingredients can be added.
