An antiseptic scrub for erupting, acne-prone skin. It contains a larger quantity of herbs while reducing the clay and omitting the nuts/seeds for stronger action. This is a very strong scrub that can tingle and even irritate sensitive skin. Increase the clay to make a milder scrub.
Use 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/2 cup echinacea root, ‘A cup clove, 1/2 cup calendula, 1/2 cup myrrh and I1/2 cups clay; optional: tea tree essential oil, lavender essential oil. Add the myrrh powder along with the clay after all the ingredients are ground as directed in Mixed Scrub (Large Batch). Yields 3 cups, enough for many applications.
Wet with witch hazel and tinctures of echinacea, sage and thyme, and also add about 2 drops of tea tree essential oil and about 1 drop of lavender to a 1-oz. batch of moistened grains in order to enhance the cleansing and therapeutic action.
