An excellent face and body moisturizer for normal to oily skin, with the added healing properties of calendula and St. Johnswort. This is a favorite cream of many friends and customers for its moisturizing abilities and its intoxicating aroma. Note that the formula in this section is made with fewer essential oils than the Luscious Lotion in the Whole Body Treatments chapter.
3 oz. canola oil 1 oz. beeswax
1 oz. peanut oil 35 drops ylang-ylang essential oil
1 oz. St. Johnswort-infused olive oil 35 drops lavender essential oil
1 oz. calendula-infused olive oil 10 drops lemongrass essential oil
3 oz. coconut oil 9 oz. distilled water
To make St. Johnswort-infused olive oil, use fresh St. Johnswort flowers and buds, or flowering tops and cold pressed olive oil, and follow Directions for Herbal-infused Oil with Fresh Herbs. Yield of herbal-infused oil made with fresh herbs varies according to how much you choose to make. To make calendula infused-olive oil, use 2 oz. of freshly dried calendula flowers, coarsely ground, and 10 oz. of cold pressed olive oil and follow Directions for Herbal-infused Oils with Dried Herbs. You will end up with about 7 oz. of calendula-infused olive oil.
