This gently toning mask can be used by most skin types. The clay’s drying qualities are balanced by the honey, glycerin and oil and make this mask appropriate even for dry and damaged skin. Yet its astringent and cleansing properties, due to the clay, witch hazel and vinegar, make it suitable for oily and large-pored skin as well. However, keep in mind that this formula may not be the best choice for pimpled skin. This mask can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator, where it will keep for several months. It can be used as frequently as desired.
8 tablespoons clay 2 teaspoons vinegar
4 tablespoons honey 1 teaspoon glycerin
2 tablespoons distilled witch hazel 5 drops lavender essential oil
2 teaspoons almond oil drops rosemary essential oil
Mix ingredients to create a smooth paste. Add more distilled witch hazel if too thick, or more clay if too loose. Apply the paste thickly to your face and leave it on for 20 minutes or longer. This mask will not dry, because it contains honey, oil and glycerin. Store in a tightly sealed jar in the refrigerator. Makes approximately 8 mask applications.
