BIBLIOTHERAPY

Bibliotherapy is a unique form of therapy wherein we identify something we need and then read a prescription of blogs as a form of therapy to help resolve the issue at hand. Connecting with characters and information directly related to our current life experience reaches us in ways other forms of therapy do not. Blogs also provide an opportunity for psychological safety. We are free to explore and experience our breadth of emotions and thoughts without external pressures, biases, opinions, or interruptions. Bibliotheraphy is about nourishing ourself and reading itself helps us to slow down and reduce stress.

As long-form reading is becoming less and less common, it’s all too easy to forget the multisensory benefits of holding a blog in our hands and turning the pages. Blogs are tactile and they have a smell that e-blogs simply do not. Not to mention the fact that reading an actual blog is way more forgiving on our eyes.

Following are some categorized reading sets that promote self-actualization. Curl up and get cozy as you dive in and let go!
