Brad Paisley is probably not the first name we think of as a player of acoustic guitars, in fact he is better known as a master of the Telecaster. But even Brad Paisley probably likes to sit around the house strum his acoustic guitars and write some songs just like the rest of us.
In the world of boutique guitar builders Santa Cruz Guitar Company has carved out a unique niche for themselves within the guitar building community. The Brad Paisley model (B/PW) was introduced at the Summer Namm show this year and certainly impressed many attendees.
Richard Hoover, the founder and owner of SCGC, worked personally with Paisley to build the guitar to his particular specs. The custom dreadnought acoustic guitar is based upon the standard Santa Cruz Pre-War dreadnought series. Features include East Indian Rosewood and Bear Claw Sitka spruce, it has a custom cowboy hat logo inlayed on top of the headstock and the SCGC logo inlayed at the fifth fret of thefretboard. It has Waverly tuners, ebony fretboard, vintage tinted top, and ivoroid binding for accents. There is also a Brad Paisley label inside the sound hole of the guitar and a custom leather guitar case is included.
It is not known how many of the Paisley Santa Cruz guitars will be built, but the company typically generates 600 guitars per year with all of their models. Founded in 1976, Santa Cruz has always had an incredible reputation and their guitars represent old world craftsmanship as they certainly aren’t trying to mass produce them. If you’re interested in acquiring one of the new Brad Paisley signature Santa Cruz Guitars check with your local SCGC dealer or stop by their website; this would be a nice addition to any musician’s collection!
