When Laura and Lydia Rogers first arrived on the music scene with their debut album in 2010, the Southern sisters from Florence, Alabama, were completely unaware of the bright career that beckoned. They had never performed as a duo, travelled overseas or dreamt of a life in the public eye. Then success struck like a whirlwind.
Life changed instantly when Laura, who was studying towards a career in business, attended an impromptu Nashville audition, which led to a record deal, tour dates, and a selftitled album. Now, four years on from the first release, they can barely count the ways they have grown, personally and professionally. They’ve worked with some of the best in the business, travelled, developed their harmony and song-writing skills and learnt to juggle a life on the road.
The release of their second album PUT YOUR NEEDLE DOWN has given the down-to-earth sisters a chance to reflect on how life has changed, but Laura says they now wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Before everything got started in 2009, Lydia and I had never even played a show together, we had never written a song together, we had never done any musical work together, the only music we had done together was sitting around at home singing just for the fun of it, so it never really occurred to us to sing together professionally.
