Caz and Olly: real or fake?

THEY’VE KEPT US GUESSING OVER THE STATE OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP FOR MONTHS and now things seem to be hotting up between Caroline Flack and Olly Murs – but is the flirtation real or fake? In the same week the pair pretended to go in for a smooch on the X Factor live shows, Caroline, 36, admitted their bond wasn’t “totally platonic” – only adding fuel to talk that they’re more than friends. She said, “Me and Olly have a lovely relationship. It’s a weird chemistry. We have the innate understanding of one another – we don’t fancy each other and yet we don’t not fancy each other.

We’re not girlfriend and boyfriend, yet we’re not totally platonic either.” In a telling move later that day, Caz did little to silence Sinitta’s plea for the pair to get together. She responded to Sinitta’s tweet – which said, “I wish they would just kiss and out is out of our misery”* – with four heart emojis rather than a denial.

The presenter went on to spend her 36th birthday with Olly, 31, with sources claiming they got particularly flirty in a taxi on the way to her party at London’s trendy Shoreditch House on November 8. An onlooker said, “Caroline was all over Olly, which he seemed to be enjoying. They stopped when they realised people could see them.” The duo even serenaded each other with Craig David’s song Rendezvous, which includes the lyric, “You know we’ll be getting some, getting jiggy just for fun.” Oo-er! However, fans aren’t convinced there’s a real romance in the offing. One said, “Fuelling the rumour mill to keep X Factor in the news.” Another said, “Don’t believe this.

No coincidence – ratings slump and then they have to pretend ‘are they aren’t they’ to generate some interest.” Caroline has openly admitted to having the hots for her co-host, saying, “I couldn’t work out whether I fancied you or not. I probably did a little bit.” And she has even branded herself his “perfect girl”. But Olly has repeatedly played down talk of a romance, especially since his split from long-term girlfriend Francesca Thomas in September.

At the time, he insisted he was “just good mates” with Caroline and said they had a “brother-sister relationship”. He added, “We’re just comfortable with each other as friends. It’s not like a relationship.” As well as being accused of “faking” a romance with Olly, Caroline was branded a “man-eater” last week after she was pictured leaving the Music Industry Trusts Awards in London with last year’s X Factor winner Ben Haenow, 30, on the same evening that she reportedly flirted up a storm with One Direction’s Niall Horan, 22.
