Cheese And Vegetable Pie Recipe

Cooking Time: about 30 minutes You will need for 4 servings:

1 lb. parboiled salt and pepper

4 tablespoons thin cream or milk butter potatoes

2 medium-sized onions 8 oz. Cheddar cheese

1 Slice the potatoes and put a layer into a well greased casserole.

2 Cover with half the onion, finely chopped, and then add a layer of cheese, sliced as thinly as possible.

3 Repeat the layers, seasoning each one.

4 Moisten with the cream or milk and cover with the last layer of potatoes.

5 Dot with butter, cover and bake for about 20 minutes in a moderate oven (350°F – Gas Mark 4).

6 Remove the lid and continue cooking until the potatoes are brown.

Mixed vegetable pie

Cooking Time: 20-25 minutes You will need for 4 servings:

1 pint cheese sauce

1 lb. mixed cooked vegetables (carrots, peas, beans, etc., as available)

1-2 tomatoes, peeled and sliced

1 hard-boiled egg, sliced

1 lb. cooked mashed potato, well seasoned 1 tablespoon grated cheese 1 oz. butter

1 Mix the vegetables, tomatoes, and egg together with the sauce.

2 Put into a fireproof dish and cover with the potato.

3 Sprinkle with grated cheese and dot with butter.

4 Bake for about 20 minutes in a moderately hot oven (375°F – Gas Mark 5).
