Chicken Stew Recipe
Cooking Time: about 45 minutes
You will need for 4 servings:
1 packet chicken 1 small red pepper noodle soup 1J pints water 4 chicken joints 8 oz. carrots (optional)
4 oz. peas
4 oz. French beans
1 Make up the soup as directed on the packet using 1-1 pints water.
2 Add the chicken joints. Chop the pepper if used, add to the soup, simmer for 30 minutes.
3 Add the vegetables and continue cooking until tender, about 15 minutes.
4 Serve with French bread.
Cooking Time: about 30 minutes
You will need for 4 servings: packet asparagus 1 oz. cornflour soup 1 tablespoon milk 11 pints water 1 egg yolk
4 oz. chicken, cooked J pint thin cream
4 oz. ham or bacon, bacon rolls for cooked garnishing
1 Make up soup using 11 pints water.
2 Cut chicken and ham into cubes, add to soup.
3 Blend cornflour to a smooth paste with milk.
4 Stir into soup and cook for 5 minutes, stirring throughout.
5 Mix egg yolk and cream together, beating lightly with a fork.
6 Stir a little of the hot soup into the egg mixture. Mix well. Pour back into the pan of soup.
7 Correct seasoning. Serve with bacon rolls.
