Easy Prom Hairstyle Half Updo Hair Tutorial

Hey guys, I'm going to show you how to do this special occasion hairstyle that's perfect for prom this hairstyle works best on medium to long hair with curls and best of all it's super easy to do. So, if you want to learn how to do this and keep on reading since I have fine straight hair. I'm going to add some textures and curls to it. But first. I'm going to brush my hair to detangle any knots and part it in half for this look I'll be using the Infinity Pro by Connor secret curl which is the natural extension of the successful curl secret this unit has a vertical design that takes up less counter space and it also has a handle you can carry around for convenience now this kit is different.

Because it comes with 12 silicone pop-up hot rollers that look like this, you basically wrap your hair around it and when you're done you just snap it shut and you don't need any clips to use this all you have to do is make sure all the hot rollers are in close the lid plug in the unit and wait for it to heat up when the hot rollers are ready and hot to the touch you want to place it in the middle of the Strand and wrap your hair around it then continue to roll up towards your scalp since I can't fill it with any more hair. I'm going to snap it shut to hold it in place from here.

I'm just going to curl the rest of my hair. So I'm going to start at the top and work my way to the bottom one thing I forgot to mention is that these hot rollers come in two different sizes in the kit you get six medium ones and six small ones what I like to do is I like to with the medium ones on top and the smaller ones at the bottom to give my hair some extra volume when you're done with one side you want to repeat and do the exact same thing on the opposite side and once you're done everything you want to leave the hot rollers in your hair until they completely cool off and for me that took about 15 minutes when the hot rollers are cooled off just unsnap and unwind the hot rollers work this on people with short to medium hair and it definitely gives a lot of volume however, if you have long hair you probably won't be able to fit all of it into the hot rollers and as you can see since I have long hair I can only crow half the length which is fine. Because for this look I only need the ends curls and for comparison the curl on the left is the small one and the curl on the right is the medium one once all the hot rollers are removed you want to break apart your curls and you can do. So by using your hands or a brush here. I'm just using a paddle brush to comb out my hair section by section and now that.

I'm happy with my curls. I'm going to set them with hairspray. So that they last all night long for the prom hairstyle you want to start by creating a pompadour at the top of your head. So first you want to pick up a section of hair at the crown and gently backcomb it with a rat tail comb raise the teeth with some hairspray and gently build more volume now pull melt the surface of your hair. So that everything is smooth and bring it to the back then gently push up your hair and bobby pin it in place next you want to pick up a section of hair on each side of your head and make sure that it's from the front hairline then you want to tie them together with an elastic band position the ponytail right on top of the bobby pins to conceal them now tighten your ponytail and flip it up from underneath right behind the hair tie once you have your hair flipped up don't pull it out all the way instead create a little loop and then fold it back down now grab a bobby pin and insert it at the base of the loop. So that it also is secured to the base of your head spread your loop apart then reap each right the Lowe's will pick up two sections of hair combine them together at the back right below the first loop and tie them together with an elastic band tie in the ponytail then flip it up and create a loop fan of the loop fold it down and secure it with a bobby pin depending on your preference this hairstyle can look neat or messy I prefer the messy look on myself. Because I find that it gives my hair more texture however, if you want the neat look all you have to do is when you found all your hair you want to do it neatly and after you're done you want to polish it with hairspray I just made my loops really messy here.

Because I kind of like how it gives the full Mohawk effect for this half up half down hairstyle. I'm going to create three loops and set them with hairspray.
