A strongly scented effective deodorant. This can also be used as an exotic air freshener when misted around the room or onto upholstered furniture and curtains.
10 drops patchouli essential oil 15 drops lavender essential oil
1/2 cup 80 proof vodka 1/2 cup distilled water
10 drops geranium egypt essential oil
Pour vodka and water into a jar, drop in the essential oils, cap and shake. Apply deodorant onto a cotton swab or cloth and wipe underarms for cleaning and neutralizing body odor. You can also put the deodorant into a spray bottle and mist underarms. Makes 4 oz.
Variation: If the deodorant feels too drying add 1/2 -1/2 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin.
Tincture Deodorants. You can make effective, pleasantly aromatic deodorants by tincturing antimicrobial and deodorizing herbs, then diluting them and adding essential oils. You must plan ahead when making these formulas, since making a tincture requires a minimum of 3 weeks.
