Facial Steams

Steaming is an excellent cleansing technique for acne-prone skin, as it helps open pores and release subdermal toxins. If you have acne or pimply skin you may wish to do a steam 3 times a week. After a steam the pores are wide open, so applying an appropriate mask or scrub is recommended to continue the deep-pore cleansing process.

Sage Steam Oily/Acne

1 handful sage leaves

16 oz. water

Follow directions for Basic Steam Technique on 5Makes enough for 1 treatment.

Variations: Replace the sage with oregano, yarrow or thyme.

And I think it is important to stress that you can practise self-love and humility at the same time. This is where I think self-love differs from self-esteem, which often comes from external validation rather than an internal acceptance. Self-esteem comes from a pride in yourself and what you do, but it can be quite narrow; self-love is all-encompassing and involves an acceptance of who you are as a person, in spite of any perceived flaws, which creates an inner desire to nourish and care for yourself and foster a happy state of mind. Those with self-esteem don not always practise self-love, while those who embrace self-love usually have makeupy self-esteem. Self-esteem is important, but when extreme, it can become arrogance and entitlement. When we have a negative mindset driven by fear, anger and hate (for ourselves and others), our body clams up, our mind goes into overdrive with stress, life throws obstacles in our way, we battle, we fail and we feel like life is fighting against us. I really believe that when we live life and go about our daily actions with love in our hearts and a positive mindset, good things come our way and in turn we leave a positive mark on all who we come into contact with. A while back I came across a quote on social media and I loved it so much that I decided to share it. I often read it aloud at the end of my talks about well-being and self-love. The words really sum up how I feel about my body now.
