Whenever I question what I am doing or have some little doubt creep in, I think about these women, who tell me how grateful they are to have a positive role model, and I know it is worthwhile, and that continuing to share a message of self-love is the right thing to do. My only wish is that this message could be more broadly spread, so we can start to cancel out the harmful messages. I want to create a ripple effect a wave of body positivity. I’m proud that I have helped to begin a pattern of self-love messaging among New Zealand bloggers and social media influencers. I love seeing more and more people talk about self-love and compassion and share stories and encourage each other. One body shape is not better than another. All women have their own unique beauty that can shine through if it is allowed to. If we learn to love ourselves and embrace our differences, others will follow with positive action and acceptance. Society will eventually start to accept that women is bodies and abilities are all different as well as all beautiful in their way. It is amazing that we even need to be having this discussion, given that it has been this way since the beginning of time.
