Healing Garden Skin Mask Homemade

This mask gently cleanses and soothes blemished, irritated and damaged skin. The fresh apple juice and lemon juice provide the mask with alpha hydroxy acids that help delicately exfoliate the skin.

1 large handful fresh plantain leaves 1 tablespoon distilled witch hazel.

1 tablespoon fresh-squeezed apple 2 tablespoons clay (preferred) or juice (preferred) or water cornstarch a squeeze or 1/2 teaspoon fresh citrus juice (from lemon, orange, grape fruit or lime) Chop plantain and place in food processor (preferred) or blender and process with liquids, pouring liquid in a little at a time until a thick paste results. Add the clay or cornstarch and continue to blend. If the herbal paste is too loose and won't adhere to your face, sprinkle in small amounts of clay or cornstarch to thicken.

Apply the mask thickly to the face and relax and recline to keep it from dripping off face. You can also place gauze or thin cloth over the mask to keep it in place.

Leave on for 20 minutes or longer and then rinse off. This mask will not dry. Makes enough for 1 application.

Variations: Replace the plantain leaves with violet leaves. Replace the apple juice with freshly squeezed carrot juice.
