Heat stroke for child
This is a very serious condition and may develop after a child has been playing or running in the hot sun for a long time.
The victim is hot and flushed, with a dry skin.
Breathing is rapid.
She may rapidly become unconscious.
A conscious child may complain of headache, nausea, dizziness, and feeling hot. This is an emergency. Get the child to hospital immediately.
Apply as many of the following procedures as possible before or during the trip.
Bring her temperature down by taking off her clothes and wrapping her in a cold, wet sheet.
Direct as much cold air on her as possible. Place a fan near her with a bowl of ice in front of it.
Massage arms and legs to increase circulation and bring blood to the skin’s surface to be cooled.
Keep wetting the sheet with cold water until the temperature is down to 38 Â°C.
