Cleanses and tones the gums. Fights bacterial, fungal and viral infections such as cold sores, gingivitis and irritated gums. Good as a gargle for sore throats. This concentrated mouth rinse can be used straight or diluted in a small amount of water. Available ready-made (see Resources).
1 tablespoon echinacea angustifolia 1 tablespoon licorice root tincture
root tincture 1 tablespoon horsetail tincture
1 tablespoon calendula flower tincture 2 oz. vegetable glycerin
1 tablespoon fresh St. Johnswort 10 oz. distilled water
flower tincture 12 drops tea tree essential oil
1 tablespoon sage leaf tincture 60 drops spearmint or fennel essential
2 teaspoons myrrh powder tincture oil
2 teaspoons goldenseal root tincture
Make or purchase tinctures of the herbs listed above. Measure and pour the tinctures, glycerin, water and essential oils into a glass bottle, cap and shake. It is ready for use. This mouth rinse can be preserved for a year or more unrefrigerated. Makes about 15 oz.
