Homemade Sage Horsetail Tooth Powder

A cleansing, refreshing powder that brightens teeth.

1 teaspoon freshly dried sage 4 drops tea tree essential oil.

1 teaspoon dried horsetail 6 drops mint or other oil of choice for.

1 teaspoon baking soda flavor and cleansing purposes.

1 teaspoon sea salt.

Grind sage and horsetail in coffee grinder used exclusively for herbs and seeds, sift through fine mesh strainer to get a very fine powder, add baking soda and salt and mix well, drop in the essential oils (stirring after each addition) and store in a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. To use, sprinkle powder lightly onto moistened toothbrush. Makes enough for 20 or more brushings.

Variation: Instead of sage and horsetail substitute an equal amount of other herbs; some good choices are cinnamon, echinacea, clove, oregano, citrus peel, myrrh, prickly ash bark and oak bark.
