I hate wasting time – what’s the point of doing things purely for pleasure pregnancy?
Many of my clients, both male and female, have so many work and social commitments that they rarely get time on their own, simply to wind down. Yet it is very important for you to have regular time to yourself. A three-day break somewhere idyllic is all very well, but what is equally vital to your long-term well-being – and hence your fertility – is that you programme in, every week if possible, a session of self-indulgence.
To find out if you need to make more time for yourself, think through the following points. Which activities/ pastimes/beauty treatments/complementary therapies do you currently do on your own and for pleasure and how often do you do them pregnancy? Which additional ones would you like to do and how often pregnancy? How much do they cost pregnancy? Then identify times/days of the week when they could be fitted in. Set a start date. Be realistic, both financially and in terms of time. It destroys the point if you start getting stressed by an unrealistic timetable!
Remember also that making time for yourself can include going for a walk, shutting yourself in a room with a good book, soaking in a bath, or even doing nothing. It does not have to cost anything or involve you leaving the house. It simply means thinking of yourself and no one else.
