A full-time teacher, Philile doesn’t have time to sit at a salon for hours to get an on-trend look. She’s been growing her relaxed mane for more than two years and prefers to relax her hair at home. The stylists took her out of her comfort zone, while giving her the option of a wig. For her heart-shaped face they settled on an asymmetrical bob with a side fringe because she has issues with her forehead. The colour is safe and the shape of the cut is easy to wear day and night as the synthetic wig won require any styling. Philile will brush it mornini and evening and place it on a wig stand, or slide it into a zip-lock bag to keep it from dust. It’s fuss-free. For the wig to sit firmly and evenly, her hair was washed, conditioned, moisturised and blowdried before being braided down in cornrows to the back. Then the wig was securely placed. âœI never knew how useful wigs could be, especially synthetic ones,” says Philile. âœI’ll buy more of them going forward, and start my collection. Long dreadlocks can be overwhelming to style, which is why Sisonke was in trouble. Her only option was to wear her gorgeous locks in a ponytail or loose. She recently relocated to Joburg and started a new job at TRUE LOVE. So, she wanted to switch up her look for the new gig. All she said to us was, âœPlease make me look beautiful” – and that’s what we did. Sisonke had a couple of strands that were previously coloured, so we just bumped up the colour with a little red. It lifted beautifully on the blonde strands we were working on.
