1 Place your empty” right foot on the ground, toes forward. Your right hand curves down to rest on a cushion of air outside your right thigh. Your left hand curves forward to push to the centre, fingertips in line with your mouth.
2 Sink back into your left leg, turning your waist to the right, Long angled bob haircuts with the palm of your left hand facing towards your body in the Yang-style ward-off position.
3 Transfer your weight forward into your right foot, with your left palm turning so that it faces downwards.
WARD OFF RIGHT. ROLL BACK, PRESS AND PUSH. WHIP
Take a shoulder-width step with your left foot and bring 70% of your weight onto it. Your right hand forms a loose fist, which comes over your hip and punches down the centre. Your left hand brushes your left leg and rests by the left knee.
Sink back into your right leg. Your left hand now assumes a ward-off position, the fingertips of your right hand pointing towards the centre of the left palm.
Your right palm faces downwards. Gaze steadily and confidently forwards.
Turn your body 45° to the left, pivoting neatly on the left heel. Shift all your weight forward into your left leg. Your left arm should remain in this position, while your right hand now presses smartly down.
