Queen of Hungary’s Water with Dried Herbs
You can use dried herbs to make Queen of Hungary’s Water in place of the fresh herbs, although I think the resulting product is less potent. To make with dried herb use 2 oz. of herb to 10 oz. of vinegar and proceed as above.
Antimicrobial Astringent Acne/Infected/Oily
For pimples, acne and infected skin. This formula requires a 6-week period to make, but once made will keep for many months, if not years, outside refrigeration. 2 oz. dry herb (or approximately 6 8 oz. vinegar tablespoons freshly powdered herb, 2 drops tea tree essential oil per or 12 tablespoons cut and sifted application herbs)
Choose from one or all of the following herbs: goldenseal, echinacea, myrrh, spilanthes, Long hair layer cutting yarrow, calendula. Coarsely grind herbs and follow Directions for Herbal-infused Vinegar with Dried Herbs.
Dilute prior to use by adding 1 teaspoon of Antimicrobial Astringent to 1-2 tablespoons of water. Add 2 drops of tea tree essential oil to increase the antimicrobial action. Apply directly to problem area with cotton swab and repeat as needed. This preparation is also excellent for cleaning wounds. Makes about 6 oz. of astringent.
Variation: Vodka can be used in place of the vinegar for a stronger cleansing effect.
