Strive to stay in control of your own beauty system. Develop your own individual beauty style: Look for the traits that make you special, learn to accentuate them, and then build your personal style around them. Learn to judge for yourself what works for you and what doesn’t. Then, occasionally, just for the fun of it, break down and try something completely out of character. Remember: Makeup is not brain surgery it washes away, so just have fun with it!
More than anything, I urge you to be positive and feel good about yourself. Perhaps it sounds cliched to say that beauty starts on the inside, but this is one thing I have learned is an absolute truth. Feel confident, strong, and pretty on the inside. Then you will surely look pretty on the outside, too.
Perhaps it sounds old-fashioned to talk about makeup etiquette. Nonetheless, making up one’s face is a social ritual and rules do exist. Whether you choose to consider or observe them is clearly up to you.
