PRACTISE MEMORY GAMES
Keep the brain healthy by exercising your failing memory. Directly after a social occasion, re-live the event in your head – the plot of the movie or play, the costumes or set. Or if you were at a party, try to recall individual details about the people you met. Use visual clues to help you remember – the stranger and more unusual, the more likely it is you will be able to recall the associated information later on.
According to a study at Trinity College, Dublin, juggling many tasks at once helps to keep your mind young and active. As we age, we challenge ourselves mentally less and less, and the effort involved in keeping several things to the forefront of your mind at once exercises the brain.
