Orange Apple Flan Recipe

No Cooking

You will need for 4 servings:

1 orange jelly blanched almonds or

1 lb. cooking apples thick cream for

4 oz. sugar decorating

1 7-in. flan case

1 Dissolve the jelly in a little hot water and make up to 1 pint with cold water.

2 Put the sugar and 1 pint water in a pan. Bring to the boil.

3 Peel apples, cut into slices, removing the core.

4 Drop the apple slices into the syrup and simmer until tender.

5 Remove the apple slices to a measuring jug.

Add enough of the syrup they were cooked in to make 1 pint in all. Mix with the jelly.

6 Spoon into flan case and leave until set.

7 Decorate with spikes of almond or cream.

Sunshine sundae

No Cooking

You will need for 4 servings: 1 orange jelly 1 egg 1 small can pineapple 1 dessertspoon sugar cubes

2 oz. glac6 cherries

1 Dissolve the jelly in a little hot water. Make up to 1 pint with cold water and the juice from the fruit.

2 Divide half the jelly between 4 individual glasses. Leave in a cool place to set.

3 Separate the yolk and the white of the egg.

4 Blend the yolk with the sugar and pour on the remaining jelly (which should still be hot) stirring throughout. Leave until cool.

5 Place cherries and pineapple, saving some for decorating, on the jelly already set in the glasses.

6 Whisk the egg white until stiff. Fold into the cooled yolk mixture. Continue whisking until light and frothy.

7 Pile on top of fruit in the glasses. Leave until set.

8 Decorate with remaining fruit.
