Pullbacks into Square Knot Daddy Do Hairstyles

Hi everybody. My name is Shaun. I’m the cameraman behind Hairstyles. And this week Mimi’s been out of town all week. I’ve been home alone with all six kids. Well, today’s the day we upload posts. And we looked and we saw we had a post that the sound wasn’t very good, so we couldn’t use it. So I called Abby on Friday and said, what are we supposed to do? Guess what she said. You do it, Daddy. I’ve got to do a Daddy ‘do. So I’m going to do the best I can. I’m not a good replacement for Abby at all. But what we’re going to show you today are pullbacks into a square knot. OK? Let’s start with that. So the first thing that I’m going to do is I actually take a section, just a small section above the ear about an inch or so, leaving you don’t want to go too high, because you want to be able to pull the bangs back.

And you just leave a section here and a section here, on the front. But the first thing I’m going to do, because she does have fine hair, is to help control the flyaways I’m going to spray it, just a little bit of water in there. And as well in the back, just again, for those flyaways I just want to keep them under control there. Sorry, sweetie, if I get you a little bit wet. Next thing I’m going to do is grab my rubber band, and just pull the rest of this hair that we’re not going to be doing anything with, just out of the way into a soft ponytail, just like that. Turn her back this way. So now what I’m going to do is actually, even to control the flyaways even more, I’m going to put a little bit of this stuff in it. Abby says this is good to use, if you need to control some flyaways and give some texture to the hair, some grit, called Jonathan Dirt. Let’s give it a try. Smell that. What does it smell like? Smells good. Smells like frosting, little buttercream frosting. Do you dare me to try it? Yeah. Really? Mm-hmm. You want to try it? No, don’t do it. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. It’s not bad, but OK, I’m going to put a little bit of that in her hair, just to add some texture, some grit for this not that we’re going to be doing do the same thing on this side. Looks pretty good. Come on this side, now. Now I’m going to grab my rat tail comb, and take that section of hair and just comb it back. That’s why we call it a pullback. We’re not twisting the hair, we’re literally just going to pull it back. Can you hold that for me, sweetie? There you go. We’ll do the same thing on this side.

OK. If you can tie your shoe, you can do this part. We’re just going to cross over, and pull this tail up through pretty simple and pull it fairly tight. Can I have you hold it right there, sweetie? A little higher. Now I’m going to go through and do it again. Pretty easy. All right, now that I’ve got that done, I’m going to pull out the rest of the hair and grab a simple small, blonde bobby pin. And Abby says these are good to use, because they oops camouflage themselves in her hair better. Just going to grab that whole little tail there, and I’m going to push that bobby pin all the way in, just like that. I’m going to do the same thing on the other side grab that whole tail, and push in all the way in, just like that. OK, ready? We’re going to let it go, one, two, three. There you go. There’s your pullbacks into a square knot. You can fidget with it, and make it look the way you want. Now because of the flyaways that she does have, I’m going to go through with some hairspray and just gently kind of smooth out those flyaways that she may have. And then because it is a knot, I’m going to grab and just spritz a little bit of hairspray in there and give a little bit of form, and let that dry that way. And then we’ll do a little bit of hairspray here on the front, as well, just to keep those back. And there you have it. Pretty cute, easy, simple. Not something you probably want to do for a PE day, but it’s so easy a dad can do it. I’ve been taking care of these kids all week. We’ve been eating cake, cookies, ice cream, slushies. Abby’s going to be really upset at me. But anyway, what to you say we go get some ice cream now? Yeah. Sounds good? OK. Don’t forget, Abby did set up an Instagram account. It’ s called Hairstyles, the same as the blog name. And we can’t wait for Abby to come back next week, and I’m sure you can’t, either. And thanks a lot for your patience. I’m no substitute for Abby, but I hope you enjoy it. Thank you. Bye. Bye.
