What hair products are your current favorites?

Some of my favorites are SheaMoisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo, Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner, So Cozy Cinch Detanger + Leave-In Conditioner—it’s technically for kids but works just as well on my hair too—Camille Rose Curl Maker and KeraCare Protein Styling Gel.

What are some of your favorite hairstyles to wear for daytime and the red carpet?

Some of my favorite daytime looks include a slick bun, a top knot, defined curls or a smooth blowout. I recently got my hair braided, and I loved it—so I think I’ll be throwing more braided styles into the mix too. For redcarpet looks, it really depends on what I’m wearing. But I normally smooth it out and spiral-curl it so that it falls into nice waves over the course of the night.

Whose hairstyles do you admire most?

Queen Bey (of course), Kerry Washington and, most recently, Tessa Thompson. These women are constantly switching it up, and they kill it every time.

What are some of your favorite makeup products to use when you want to glam it up and when you want a simple, more natural look?

When I want a natural look, simplicity is key. I’ll wear foundation—Clinique Oil-Free Matte in Sand is my go-to—and a sheer lip gloss or tinted lip balm; the Sugar Lip Treatments from Fresh are amazing. I’ll brush out my brows, and I might wear mascara, like Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Mascara in Deep Black, and that will be it. For a more glam look, I believe in the power of a good statement lip. Dior Addict Lacquer Sticks are moisturizing and long-lasting. I’m currently loving Sassy #882. I might add a soft blush or bronzer; Nars Illuminating Loose Powder is my current favorite. I also think a great complement to any beauty routine is fragrance. I’ve been wearing Giorgio Armani Si for a couple of years. I can’t quit it. It’s definitely a day-to-night fragrance—it’s superlight and feminine, and it always makes me feel like my beauty routine is complete.

Your skin is great. What skin-care products do you use?

In the morning, I wash my face with either Dermalogica Ultra-Calming Cleanser or Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. I follow with a serum— either Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum or the iS Clinical Active Serum—and a light moisturizer. I go back and forth between Glow Recipe Watermelon Pink Juice Moisturizer and Control Corrective Healing Lotion, both of which are oil-free and great for my sensitive skin.

And I try to wear sunscreen every day. TIZO3 SPF 40 is packed with minerals and antioxidants and has a super-matte finish, which I like. At night, I use M-61 Perfect Cleansing Cloths before washing my face.

For a nice boost, I’ll do the M-61 PowerGlow Peel after washing. I wake up with a nice glow.
