It seems like just yesterday we were starting a blog and we had a handful of commentrs. We're so honored that you guys come and see us every Sunday night and check out our hair posts. And we are so thankful to you guys. One million! It's crazy. And to top it all off, it's on my husband's birthday, which is like the very best birthday present I could ever give him. So thank you again. Now onto the hair. So today I'm going to teach you how to do a reverse fishtail braid. So I've seen pictures of this roaming around the internet and I think it's amazing, but it took me a while to figure out how to do it. And then when I did, it's so simple I knew I had to teach you guys. So we started by just putting her hair into a ponytail.
And I'm going to separate her hair into two sections. Now this is very much like a regular fishtail. So on a regular fishtail you'd pick a piece up from the outside and you'd cross it over the top and into the left section, the opposite section, and you'd continue do that. So take a piece and cross it over. And you'd go like that until you create a fishtail. Now a reverse fishtail, again, two pieces. Same thing, you're going to start with an outside edge. But instead of going over, you're going to take that piece and go under the hair and over to the other side. And again, you're going to the outside piece and go under and over to the other side. Now I'm just going to forewarn you, when you first start this fishtail, you're going to be like, this doesn't look like I'm doing anything. Because it takes about three to four inches of hair before you actually see this fishtail appear. And then all of a sudden it pops out. And you'll be like, oh, there it is. So don't get discouraged, like right now, if you can't see anything but like weird laying hair because that's very normal. You'll see why in a few seconds. So you're just going to keep getting outside edge, underneath, outside edge, back underneath. And to be honest, having now done both, I actually think this one's easier than a regular fishtail. I think because the hand hold is easier for me for some reason it just makes the whole braid really much easier.
When I separate them, you can see it popping out right there in the middle. And you'll see it appear like magic. The first couple times I did it, I'm like, this isn't even doing anything. But yes, it is. So don't get discouraged. Keep going. I'm going to try to speed it up now. Like any normal fishtail, the smaller pieces, the longer it's going to take. So just be forewarned fishtails aren't the fastest hairdo in the book, but I love the way they look. And this one's really different. Even this morning when I did it, I was practicing on her hair, and I sent her out. And I said, hey Bailey, look at her hair. What do you think? And Bailey was like, whoa, how'd you do that? Because it's really different looking and kind of unusual. I'm not sure everybody knows it's not a simple hairdo, like to just see, because you're used to seeing the original fishtail. You can see, now all of a sudden, see it popping out at the top? There you go. There's the magic. So we're just going to keep going all the way down. And we're going to just secure it at the end with an elastic when we get to that point. Very simple, but I love it.
OK, when you get to a point where you want to stop which I am there then just take an elastic, secure it at the bottom. And I'm just going to go back and just give it a little tug, just to soften it all up and loosen it up a little bit. That gives it a little bit softer feel. And then you can finish it off by putting a cute bow in their hair. I'm just going to do this cute little cream lace bow that I have at the top. And you are ready to rock and roll. OK, let me spin her so you can see the finished product. Ta-da! You can even mess it up a little bit more if you wanted to, for really soft romantic look. But again, than you guys a million for the million. Ha, ha, that was funny. And be sure to check out Brooklyn and Bailey's blog. It's BrooklynAndBailey. I'll put a link above, as well as in the description box below so you guys can find it. They are doing a really cool giveaway right now for some Mini Mouse mini mani kit. It's like a little kit of nail polishes from OPI. It's really amazing. And we will see you guys next Sunday. Bye, bye! Bye! You are every bit of beautiful. Was that cool? Where's Dad? Right there. There's Dad! Hi! There's the other girls. Hey, girls!.
