Like a wobbly tummy, facial muscles need to be exercised on a regular basis to stop them becoming loose and flabby. A routine that takes just 10 minutes a day, and which can be done anywhere – on the bus, in the car or watching TV – will tighten up lazy skin.


I fell over and cursed. Then I saw a club-like object sticking out from behind the grass roller – something left behind: a cricket bat; just the thing. I took the bat and whirled it round my head like a medieval flail and let fly, aiming for the group of long landing windows. I missed them by 20 yards, but the bat curved in an arc and smashed through the fan-light over the main door. I cheered. Someone yelled. I turned towards the sound. They yelled again, close. I ran. Several people shouted.
