Jacqueline Dawn Beatrice Gale, 54, married Captain Philip Robert Russell, 51, at St Mary’s Church, Almondsbury, Gloucestershire, followed by a reception at Eastwood Park JACQUELINE SAYS ‘Phil and I never set out to find love when we met online, but after our first date, I knew we’d be more than friends.
Phil is a Royal Navy Officer and Captain of the Sea Cadets, so the Navy was a big part of our day, with the Cadet band playing and Phil in uniform. We’d both been married before, so we were anxious about approval from the Church – and delighted to be able to wed at our local one. Sadly, my father is no longer with us, so my son Josh walked me down the aisle – I was so proud.

And my Maggie Sottero gown was called Francesca (my daughter’s name), so it was fate. We signed the register to a medley by Bristol Amateur Operatic Society, walked out to a guard of honour and had a reception with Pimm’s, canapés, a BBQ and fireworks. One thing I didn’t think through: to our friends, I’ll now be Jack Russell!’ MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT ‘Being announced at the church with a fanfare by the Cadet band.’
